Time To Introspect

World cup T20 is now over and its time again to retrospect the performance of teams on the basis of how they fared in this addition.among all kind of highs and lows, upsets, one thing which stamped its authority again is that it doent matter whether its T20 or T50 or Test Cricket, the game is the greatest leveller and you have to play well to be the champion. There are no if's no buts no assumptions and Perform or Perish is the only Mantra. The way Netherlands routed England (The Inventor of the game,Remember!) in the inaugural match was inaugural match just sums up the same. Before the tournament started India,Australia,South Africa were the hot favorites to lift the trophy but as we found out none of these made to the top two.Srilanka who drive themselves more on potential and talent rather than any assumptions were the only team who lived to the expectations and probably the best team in the tournament inspite of loosing the final.on the other hand Pakistan whom nobody gave a slight chance (Including captian Younis Khan it seemed) were as unpredictable as the monsoon in India and surprised themselves by lifting the trophy.Their neighbor on the the other hand seemed as if they went their to complete the formality and not to retain the acme.Indian players looked badly out of touch,Injured and fatigued, out of sorts on all accounts including the big M.The only team with players having decent runs under their belt and cherish to taste before coming to England were looking like a bunch of loosers. This brings us to one one more debatable issue,"Whether IPL,the greatest product delivered by India to the World is the Boon or BANE for Indian Cricketers?"you may disagree with it from the financial point of view but if you look at the productive point of view, you can feel the smoke coming out.As the golden rule of marketing says the product is as good or as effective as its output. When Lailt modi launched the product to the world he said the product will be successful if it delivered in the International scene.by this he meant if the player playing in the IPL performed well in IPL but didnt deliver at International scene the repurcations will be felt at the ground level and if you perform at I-level you will be the one to be a part of IPL team where performance and not reputation is the only parameter.so if IPL can push you to the National side or vise versa holds true.so here if Indian team doent perform at international level keeping financial purpose aside all purpose will be lost.Money is directly proportional to success of players in this competitive world.so Indian players need to reap in maximum benefits from the IPL just like Sangakara did for Srilanka,Gayle,Bravo for West Indies and Smith,Devillers for SA.Otherwise IPL will be just like the English county cricket with too much money, too many players and very little domestic talent and though -"Invented by British conquered by others".
